Spelthorne submits application for Ashford housing development - April 2023

Spelthorne Borough Council has submitted a planning application to build housing in Ashford.  

On the site formerly used as a multi-storey car park in Church Road (the high street), the Council is applying to build 42 one and two-bedroom homes over commercial/community space with car parking.

The Council consulted on the proposals from 1 - 17 July 2022 which included a two-day on-site public engagement exhibition on 1 and 2 July. Some changes were made in light of the feedback received, including enhancements to the public landscaping and privacy screening to the rear of the building.

If the planning application is successful the Council will partner with Homes England to secure grant funding, enabling the development to offer 100% affordable rental homes for local residents. Once the scheme is completed the homes will be managed by Knowle Green Estates, the Council's wholly owned housing delivery company.
